MAR 02200407:17:00 UTCMaiden flight of the Ariane 5G+ variant, sending ESA's Rosetta probe on a ten-year cruise to comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko by way of one Mars and three Earth gravity assists, with flybys of the asteroids 2867 Steins and 21 Lutetia along the way. In August 2014 Rosetta became the first spacecraft to orbit a comet, and that November its Philae lander made the first soft landing on a cometary nucleus.
