Anik F2

At nearly six tonnes, Anik F2 was the heaviest commercial communications satellite launched up to that point. Telesat used its large bank of Ka-band transponders to open one of North America's first satellite broadband services, extending high-speed internet to areas beyond the reach of terrestrial networks.
