ArabSat-5A

Ariane 5 ECA released two geostationary satellites on one flight: Arabsat-5A, for the Arab Satellite Communications Organization, about 26 minutes after liftoff, and South Korea's COMS-1 about six minutes later. The launch slipped from 23 June after a countdown anomaly, then again on 24 June over a pressurization fault in the main cryogenic stage.

Arabsat-5A was planned for 30.5° East to serve the Middle East and North Africa. COMS-1 carries meteorology, ocean observation and telecommunications payloads and was planned for 128.2° East.
