ESA's second Automated Transfer Vehicle, an uncrewed cargo ship for the International Space Station, weighed just over 20 tonnes at launch, the heaviest payload an Ariane rocket had carried. It docked with the station on 24 February 2011, undocked on 20 June loaded with waste, and was destroyed the next day on re-entry over the South Pacific.
