Ariane 5 launched two geostationary communications satellites on one flight: Sky Muster for Australia's National Broadband Network and ARSAT-2 for Argentina's operator ARSAT.

Sky Muster, built by Space Systems/Loral, is a Ka-band satellite with 101 spot beams covering rural and remote Australia and five offshore islands. Its service became operational in April 2016.
