Intelsat 29e
Failure
JAN 27201623:20:48 UTCLaunch was successful; Intelsat 29e entered commercial service in early 2016. In April 2019, the satellite suffered a catastrophic propulsion failure - a propellant leak caused loss of service on 7 April, and a second anomaly on 9 April left the satellite tumbling and drifting through the geostationary arc while shedding debris. Intelsat declared a total loss on 18 April 2019, only about three years into its planned 15-year service life.
