MTG-I2

MTG-I2 (Meteosat-14) completes EUMETSAT's third-generation geostationary imager pair. With MTG-I1 and MTG-I2 both in orbit, EUMETSAT can operate them in tandem: one satellite scanning the full Earth disc every 10 minutes while the other performs rapid local-area scans over Europe every 2.5 minutes - twice as fast as Meteosat Second Generation's rapid-scan mode - providing both wide hemispheric coverage and high-frequency regional monitoring simultaneously.
