PLATO
Planned March 2027
Ariane 62 will launch PLATO, the European Space Agency's exoplanet observatory, on a month-long cruise to the Sun-Earth L2 point 1.5 million km away. PLATO's 26 cameras are built to catch the faint, repeated dimming of Sun-like stars as Earth-sized planets cross in front of them - the signature of worlds that may sit in the habitable zone.
