Shenzhou 14

Liu Yang was making her second trip to orbit, a decade after becoming the first Chinese woman in space on Shenzhou 9 in June 2012. Commander Chen Dong was also on his second spaceflight; Cai Xuzhe was making his first.

The crew oversaw the addition of both Tiangong laboratory modules during their stay - Wentian docking in July 2022 and Mengtian in October, completing the station's T-shaped configuration. Shenzhou 14 also hosted China's first in-orbit crew handover, when the incoming Shenzhou 15 crew briefly shared the station before Shenzhou 14 departed.
