Jing Haipeng commanded his 4th spaceflight, becoming the first Chinese astronaut to fly four missions. He was joined by flight engineer Zhu Yangzhu and payload specialist Gui Haichao - a professor of aerospace engineering at Beihang University and the first civilian from China to fly in space, selected from roughly 2,500 candidates in China's third astronaut cohort.
On 20 July 2023, Jing Haipeng and Zhu Yangzhu conducted a spacewalk lasting 7 hours 55 minutes, a new Chinese EVA duration record; Zhu Yangzhu became the first Chinese flight engineer to perform an EVA. The crew returned to Earth on 30 October 2023 after a 154-day mission.
