CSES-02
CSES-02 (Zhangheng 1-02) is the second satellite of the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite program, a joint mission between China's CNSA and Earthquake Administration and Italy's ASI and INFN operating under the Limadou collaboration. Flying in tandem with CSES-01 (launched in 2018) from a ~500 km orbit, it monitors electromagnetic fields, ionospheric plasma, and energetic particle fluxes to investigate potential precursors to major earthquakes and geophysical hazards. CSES-02 carries an upgraded eleven-instrument suite, including the Italian-built HEPD-02 high-energy particle detector and EFD-02 electric field detector with improved sensitivity over the first satellite.
