Zhu Yangzhu commanded his second spaceflight; on Shenzhou 16 in July 2023, he had become the first Chinese flight engineer to perform an EVA. Zhang Zhiyuan and Lai Ka-ying were both making their first spaceflights - Lai, a payload specialist from Hong Kong, was the first astronaut to represent the territory and China's first female payload specialist.

11th crewed mission to Tiangong Space Station (TSS). The crew is scheduled for a planned 12-month stay, which would be China's longest single crewed mission.
