Most of the TJS series is geostationary and flies on the Long March 3B, 5, or 7A. This pair instead launched on a Long March 6A from Taiyuan into a highly inclined low Earth orbit, where the two satellites are tasked with validating multi-band, high-throughput communications technologies, the standard remit of the series.
