Tianlian III-01

China's Tianlian satellites carry the relay link that keeps crewed spacecraft in near-continuous contact with ground control when they pass beyond range of domestic tracking stations. This flight opened the third generation of the network, raising data throughput for the Tiangong station and Shenzhou crews and further closing the coverage gaps the earlier relays left behind.
