Satellite for Earth Observation

Long March 2C carried a remote-sensing satellite developed by the National Space Science and Technology Center at United Arab Emirates University in cooperation with partners in China. The satellite is intended to supply data for environmental protection, natural resource management, and planning decisions.

Building Emirati expertise was the project's primary objective: engineers, researchers, and students at the center worked through every stage, from assembly and testing to flying the satellite from the ground station in Al Ain.
