XPoSat

PSLV carried XPoSat, India's first dedicated X-ray polarimetry satellite. The only earlier satellite built for the purpose was NASA's IXPE, launched in 2021. XPoSat's polarimeter measures the polarisation of X-rays from about 50 cosmic sources.

After releasing the satellite, the rocket's spent fourth stage restarted twice to drop into a 350 km circular orbit and serve as POEM-3, an experiment platform hosting payloads from ISRO and from commercial providers arranged through the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe).
