Saman-1 is Iran's first domestically developed orbital transfer block - a solid-fuelled kick stage that extends the Simorgh as an optional third stage for delivery to higher orbits, forming the expanded configuration now referred to as the 'Saman-1 configuration.'

The 300 kg combined payload mass set a new record for the Simorgh.
