OCT 07201405:16:00 UTCH-IIA launched Japan's Himawari 8 weather satellite, whose 16-band imager replaced the five-band imager on the MTSAT-2 satellite it succeeded. Himawari 8 took over as the operational weather satellite on 7 July 2015.
