NOV 02201606:20:00 UTCH-IIA carried Himawari 9, the twin of the Japan Meteorological Agency's Himawari 8 weather satellite, which launched in 2014. Himawari 9 sat in orbit as Himawari 8's backup until 13 December 2022, when it took over as the operational satellite.
