Electron carried three U.S. Department of Defense research satellites for the Space Test Program. Harbinger, built by York Space Systems for the U.S. Army, combined three experimental technologies on one smallsat bus: ICEYE's synthetic-aperture radar, BridgeSat's laser communications terminal, and Enpulsion's electric propulsion thruster. Falcon ODE, built by U.S. Air Force Academy cadets, was a calibration target for ground-based space-tracking sensors and released two steel ball bearings to measure atmospheric density from their orbital decay.
