GMS-T was a 50 kg communications microsatellite for OHB Group, the first prototype for a planned LEO broadband constellation using microwave links, launched to establish ITU frequency-use rights ahead of a larger constellation build.

The mission demonstrated extended Kick Stage capability, with the Curie engine firing for more than twice its standard mission duration to deliver a 1,700 km perigee change.
