"Finding Hot Wildfires Near You"

Eight Lemur-2 CubeSats built by Spire Global carry OroraTech thermal infrared cameras to form the first phase of the Munich-based company's wildfire detection constellation. The satellites observe in mid-wave and long-wave infrared bands, detecting fire hotspots as small as four metres across and delivering alerts within three minutes of detection via onboard AI and Spire's global ground station network. OroraTech plans to expand the constellation to more than 100 satellites by 2028.
