"Don't Be Such A Square"

Electron delivered the first four DiskSats to a 550 km orbit, flying the Space Force's STP-S30 mission for Space Systems Command. The disc-shaped satellites, developed by The Aerospace Corporation with NASA funding as an alternative to the cubesat standard, are roughly one metre across and 2.5 cm thick, generating up to 100 watts through body-mounted solar cells. The prototypes are built to manoeuvre between orbital regimes, including very low Earth orbit, using electric propulsion - the capability STP-S30 set out to test.
