LOXSAT
Planned Jul 17, 2026
LOXSAT-1 is a cryogenic fluid management technology demonstration developed by Eta Space (Rockledge, Florida) under a $27 million NASA Tipping Point award. Flying on a Rocket Lab Photon-LEO spacecraft bus, the 135 kg satellite will test zero-boiloff liquid oxygen (LOX) storage, propellant densification, and cryogenic fluid transfer and refueling in orbit - technologies that underpin any future in-space propellant depot. The results are intended to inform Eta Space's planned Cryo-Dock service, a commercial cryogenic depot targeting operations by 2030.
