Progress M1-5
Success
JAN 24200104:28:00 UTCProgress M1-5 was the last spacecraft to dock with Mir and the vehicle that brought the station down. Launched on a slow three-day trajectory to conserve propellant, it docked at the Kvant-1 module and remained attached for two months while the orbit was allowed to decay naturally. On 23 March 2001 its engines fired the deorbit burn, and Mir broke up over the South Pacific with the Progress still attached.
