Soyuz TMA-2

The first crew launch after the loss of Columbia two months earlier, with the shuttle fleet grounded, Soyuz TMA-2 carried a stripped-down two-person caretaker crew to the ISS. With resupply now resting entirely on Soyuz and Progress, the station's complement was cut from three to two and its science program scaled back, an arrangement that would hold for more than two years.
