SpaceX's first launch from Launch Complex 39A — the historic Kennedy Space Center pad last used by NASA for STS-135 in 2011 — after a two-year refit by SpaceX to host Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. Dragon carried SAGE III (a stratospheric ozone and aerosol monitor) and the Lightning Imaging Sensor for external installation on the station; the first stage returned to LZ-1.
