A condosat mission: a single Boeing BSS-702MP satellite carrying distinct payloads for two operators — Sky Perfect JSAT's Ku- and Ka-band capacity for the Asia-Pacific and Russia's Far East under the JCSAT-18 designation, and Kacific's 56-beam Ka-band broadband service aimed at isolated island nations across Southeast Asia and the Pacific under the Kacific-1 designation. At roughly 6,956 kg fully fuelled, the spacecraft was among the heaviest SpaceX had flown to geostationary orbit, and was injected into a sub-synchronous transfer orbit peaking around 20,000 km so the rocket could reach that altitude at all; the satellite completed the climb to GEO under its own power.
