B1049's fifth flight delivered 60 v1.0 satellites to the 53° shell and made it the first Falcon 9 booster to successfully land five times - where B1048 had attempted but failed three months earlier, B1049 stuck the landing on JRTI, the drone ship's first East Coast recovery after years operating off the California coast. The mission also flew the first VisorSat prototype, a single satellite fitted with a deployable sunshade to test a second approach to reducing constellation brightness. Launch fell on the 10th anniversary of the first Falcon 9 flight.
