Globalstar-2 M087
Globalstar-2 M087, designated FM15, was the first Globalstar satellite launched since 2013 - a spare that had been in ground storage for nearly nine years awaiting a launch opportunity. The mission was not announced publicly; an FCC filing in early June 2022 first disclosed it. Low satellite mass and an unconventional payload dispenser fueled pre-launch speculation about an undisclosed secondary.
Four USA-designated satellites - USA 328–331 - were cataloged after the mission, confirming four classified government payloads deployed between the upper stage's first and second engine burns. The deployment structure seen in the launch footage was consistent with SpaceX's Starshield bus; their purpose remained undisclosed.
