Dragon's trunk carried EMIT — the Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation — for external installation on the station's ELC-1 platform. The imaging spectrometer was built to map the mineral composition of arid surface dust sources globally for the first time, feeding directly into atmospheric and climate models. Among the secondaries, TUMnanoSAT was Moldova's first satellite.
