Danuri
Danuri - also designated the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) - was South Korea's first mission beyond Earth orbit. The spacecraft carried scientific instruments to characterise the lunar surface and environment, including NASA's ShadowCam designed to image permanently shadowed polar regions where water ice is thought to persist. Launched into a ballistic lunar transfer trajectory, Danuri entered a 100 km polar orbit on 16 December 2022.
A laser-etched photo mosaic assembled from user-submitted images through Tesla's referral promotion was attached to the Falcon 9 second stage.
