Hotbird 13G and its twin Hotbird 13F - launched three weeks earlier - jointly replaced Hotbird 8, 9, and 10 at Eutelsat's 13° East orbital position. Both were built by Airbus on the Eurostar Neo platform, each with a launch mass of approximately 4,500 kg (9,900 lb). Hotbird 13G was injected into a supersynchronous geostationary transfer orbit of 410 km × 57,503 km inclined at 27.7°.
