Intelsat 40e

Intelsat 40e is a Maxar Technologies-built geostationary communications satellite serving North and Central America, hosting TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution) as a NASA-funded instrument.

NASA's first Earth Venture Instrument, TEMPO is the first space-based instrument to monitor air quality across the North American continent from geostationary orbit, scanning the full continent hourly during daylight to track ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and formaldehyde concentrations.
