First Cygnus to launch on a Falcon 9. Northrop Grumman bought four Falcon flights from SpaceX to bridge a gap in its own Antares manifest while Antares was being redesigned around new Firefly-built first stages, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine cut off the previous Ukrainian-built airframe and Russian RD-181 engines. SpaceX modified the payload fairing with a hatch to allow late cargo loading via a mobile cleanroom.
