Galileo L12

First Galileo launch on a Falcon 9, and the 12th Galileo launch overall. The two Soyuz launches booked for Galileo in 2022 were lost when Russia pulled its launch teams out of French Guiana after invading Ukraine. With Ariane 6 still not ready, the European Commission accepted ESA's proposal to fly two pairs of Galileo satellites on Falcon 9, the first time the system's satellites launched on an American rocket.

The first stage was expended to give the rocket the extra performance needed to reach medium Earth orbit.
