Astra 1P

Astra 1P, also designated SES-24, is a direct-to-home broadcasting satellite built by Thales Alenia Space on the all-electric Spacebus NEO-200 bus. Positioned at 19.2° East - the dominant European TV orbital slot - it carries 80 Ku-band transponders capable of relaying up to 500 HDTV channels, making it the most powerful satellite at that position. A third-generation satellite at 19.2°E, it replaced aging predecessors nearing the end of their operational lives.
