Fram2
Named after the Norwegian ship Fram that pioneered Arctic and Antarctic exploration, the mission flew four civilian crew members in a 90.01° polar orbit for 3.5 days. Funded and commanded by Maltese entrepreneur Chun Wang, the crew also included Norwegian cinematographer Jannicke Mikkelsen, German robotics specialist Rabea Rogge, and Australian polar explorer Eric Philips. The crew conducted 22 scientific experiments, among them the first X-ray imaging of a human in space and studies of the STEVE atmospheric optical phenomenon, most visible from high-inclination orbits.
First crewed spaceflight to reach a polar orbit, surpassing the orbital inclination record set by Vostok 6 in 1963.
