CSG-3 is the third of four planned COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation Earth observation satellites, jointly operated by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the Italian Ministry of Defense. The constellation carries X-band synthetic aperture radar capable of sub-metric resolution imagery, supporting both civilian applications - including disaster monitoring - and national security surveillance.
