SDA Tranche 1 Tracking Layer A

First of five launches deploying the Space Development Agency's Tranche 1 Tracking Layer, the first operational generation of its low-orbit missile-warning constellation. The satellites, built by L3Harris and Northrop Grumman, carry wide field-of-view infrared sensors for persistent warning, tracking, and targeting of advanced missile threats, including hypersonic glide vehicles.
Launch part of the National Security Space Launch Phase 2 contract awarded in 2022.
