Atlas V flew the 50th Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle mission, the US Air Force program of Atlas V and Delta IV launches that began in August 2002, with 31 Atlas V and 19 Delta IV flights. The payload is believed to be a Satellite Data System relay, which passes imagery from reconnaissance satellites to ground stations.
