Kuiper Protoflight

Atlas V carried KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2, two prototype satellites for Project Kuiper (later renamed Amazon Leo), Amazon's low Earth orbit broadband constellation, and released them about 18 minutes after liftoff. The pair gave Amazon its first on-orbit test of Kuiper satellite hardware ahead of full-scale production launches.

The flight was the first of nine Atlas V launches in ULA's contract with Amazon, and the last flight of the Atlas V 501 configuration.
