Atlantis prepared the International Space Station for its first residents, arriving weeks after the Zvezda service module docked. Over a week of work the crew installed batteries, a toilet, a treadmill, and the Elektron oxygen generator, and ferried in food, water, and supplies for the Expedition 1 crew due that fall, while a spacewalk strung the power and data cables linking Zvezda to Zarya.
