KOMPSAT-6
Planned November 2026
South Korea's second SAR satellite following KOMPSAT-5, KOMPSAT-6 (Arirang 6) carries an X-band synthetic aperture radar capable of 0.5 m resolution - a fourfold improvement over KOMPSAT-5's 1 m SAR - along with an S-AIS receiver for maritime vessel tracking.
Originally contracted for a Roscosmos Angara 1.2 launch, the mission moved to Arianespace after South Korea cancelled the agreement in response to international sanctions against Russia.
