Lampung-1 & Samarkand 2028
Both satellites were built in China for foreign customers - Lampung-1 for Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency and Samarkand 2028 for Uzbekistan's Uzcosmos - and are the first hyperspectral spacecraft of the Oriental Smart Eye constellation, which is planned to exceed 200 optical, radar, and hyperspectral satellites by 2030. Each carries a 22-band hyperspectral imager for 5-metre imaging and an onboard AI processor that analyses scenes in orbit rather than downlinking raw data, and the pair is sized to revisit any point on Earth every five days.
