launching from India

EOS-05

Planned July 2026

EOS-03 (GISAT-1) was lost in August 2021 when the cryogenic upper stage of its GSLV Mk II failed to ignite after the second stage. EOS-05 is its replacement - India's first dedicated geostationary Earth observation satellite - capable of imaging the entire subcontinent approximately every 30 minutes and selected sectors every 5 minutes, a cadence suited to tracking cyclones, floods, and forest fires as they develop, as well as agriculture and border surveillance.
