Qianfan DTC 01

This was the first Zhuque-2E flight carrying commercial payloads since the August 2025 failure, in which an electrical arc in the second stage's main power cable shorted its control units, disabling engine gimbal control and triggering the vehicle's autonomous flight termination system. A validation flight in May 2026 (Y5) had flown a mass simulator to confirm the upgraded Block 2 configuration before commercial service resumed.

Both payloads were direct-to-cell technology demonstrations: Qianfan DTC 01 was the Thousand Sails constellation's first prototype for serving standard handheld devices, and China Mobile 02 was an experimental satellite for China Mobile's emerging broadband constellation.
