Quick Bird 1
Failure
NOV 20200023:00:00 UTCQuickBird 1 was lost when its Kosmos-3M launcher failed to circularize the orbit; the second stage came up short and the satellite reentered a day later, still attached to the upper stage, over South America. It was the first of EarthWatch's high-resolution commercial imaging satellites, intended to sell sub-metre imagery on the open market; the company flew a replacement, QuickBird 2, successfully the following year.
