Built by ISS Reshetnev on the Ekspress-1000N platform, Ekvator is destined for the 34°E geostationary slot with Ka-, Ku-, and S-band transponders. Iran's second dedicated geostationary satellite, following Jam-e Jam 1, which launched as a co-payload with Elektro-L 5 in February 2026.
