USA-90
Success
MAR 30199303:09:00 UTCDelta II carried a GPS Block IIA navigation satellite and, on its second stage, SEDS-1, a Small Expendable Deployer System that let a small end mass out on a 20 km tether. The end mass was deployed about an hour after launch and later reentered, in what NASA reviews count as the first fully successful orbital test of a long tether.
